A few practical things helping me travel a little more simply and stay more organized this season.
With our beach vacation coming up this week, I’ve been slowly starting to prep and pack earlier than usual — which already feels less stressful.
I used to wait until the last minute, overpack, and somehow still feel like I was forgetting something important. Lately, though, I’ve been trying to approach travel differently: simpler routines, fewer “just in case” items, and practical things that actually make the trip feel easier.
I’m definitely not a minimalist traveler, but I am trying to be more intentional about what I bring and what truly helps me stay comfortable and organized while away.
These are a few travel essentials I’m using this season that are helping make vacation prep feel much calmer.
The Suitcase I’m Using This Season
After researching several options, I recently picked up a new suitcase for this trip and I’m really happy with it so far.
I was mainly looking for something:
durable
lightweight
easy to maneuver
simple and functional
I didn’t want anything overly complicated — just something practical that would make airport travel and unpacking easier.

Sometimes small upgrades really do make the entire process feel smoother.
My Simple Travel Checklist
One of the biggest things helping me pack with less stress lately has honestly been using a checklist.
Instead of mentally trying to remember every little thing at the last minute, I now keep everything in one simple place and check items off as I go.
I actually created a printable version for myself because I wanted something clean, minimal, and realistic to reuse for future trips.

It’s simple, but it has helped me stay much more organized while packing.
Travel Comfort Essentials for a Beach Vacation
For beach trips especially, I’ve realized the things that make the biggest difference are usually the practical comfort items.
Not necessarily trendy things — just simple essentials that make travel feel easier and more enjoyable.
A few things I’m bringing this trip:
Lightweight Tote Bag
I always bring a neutral tote bag that works for:
airport travel
the beach
pool days
carrying snacks, sunscreen, or books
Having one simple bag that works for everything helps keep things easier.
👉 Check out this lightweight, expandable, and airline-friendly tote available on Amazon. It's available in multiple colors and versatile for any adventure:
Portable Charger
One thing I never skip anymore is a portable charger.
Between travel days, navigation, photos, and long beach days, it’s one of those things that makes life much easier while away.
👉 Check out this great find on Amazon...a super slim all in one portable charger:
Simple Packing Cubes
I’ve also been using this ten-piece set. It's an all-in-one travel packing system designed to keep your luggage perfectly organized and clutter-free.
It makes unpacking and finding things so much less chaotic.
👉 Available on Amazon:
Comfortable Travel Clothing
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that comfortable travel outfits make such a difference on long travel days.
I’ve been trying to keep things much simpler this season — lightweight fabrics, neutral basics, and pieces that are comfortable enough for travel but still feel put together.
Lightweight Travel Pants
I’ve been reaching for comfortable wide-leg travel pants lately because they’re breathable, easy to move in, and simple to style throughout the trip.
They’re one of those pieces that work for the airport, casual dinners, or relaxing by the beach without feeling overly dressed up.

Everyday Sneakers
A comfortable pair of neutral sneakers is probably my most-used travel essential.
I usually wear them through the airport and for walking days because they go with almost everything and help simplify packing.
👉 I personally wear these retro style athletic shoes from Vans and love them:
Things I’m Trying to Do Differently This Trip
This trip, I’m trying to:
pack lighter
prepare earlier
simplify my routines
leave extra room in the schedule
enjoy the process a little more
I tend to overthink things sometimes, so having simple systems in place really helps me feel more organized and less overwhelmed before traveling.
Nothing perfect — just what’s working for me this season 🤍
